Red Wine Spritzer – a cool and refreshing cocktail you can enjoy anytime of day! So easy, you can make in minutes, with just 2 ingredients!
I can’t believe that the 4th of July is here! Well not today, but so close. Time to figure out what you are going to make, what you are going to drink, and who you are going to spend it with. Are you going to grill out and then head to see fireworks? Need another fun drink idea? Skinny Mojitos are always a hit too!
We are spending the day with friends we haven’t seen in years! Lots of catching up, good food, drinks, and then fireworks to close out the night. Exciting to spend the 4th of July like we did years ago when all our kids were babies! I am bringing my Cheesy Corn Dip, because it always disappears quickly.
Are you a wine drinker? I am definitely a red wine kind of girl. But I have a lot of friends who are white wine drinkers, or maybe not big fans of wine. Which is when a wine sprizter is a great alternative. Plus, it is so darn simple to make. This Easy Sangria Recipe is another one of my favorite to use a bottle of wine in.
This Red Wine Spritzer has just 2 ingredients, you can’t get any easier than that! To make this version you just fill a glass with ice, then fill with half red wine and half with club soda or Sprite. Fizzy, fruity, and refreshing. I have made this cocktail in the past with simple syrup and then just top with club soda for the fizz. Using sprite sweetens and adds flavor at the same time! You could even use your favorite white wine to make a White Wine Spritzer using the exact same method.
One of my best friends is a beer drinker. Whenever we get together she gets beer, and I get wine. Or we both get Margaritas, because who says no to those! She actually tried a red wine spritzer at a restaurant and was telling me I should try it. So we made these together and spent the day sitting outside and enjoying a drink together.
Of course we had yummy snacks to go with it like Rosemary Roasted Olives. Super refreshing on a summer day. The recipe below is written using the full bottle of wine, but you can make just 1. I like a 1 to 1 ratio, but some people prefer more wine to sparkling. So mix it up and see what you like!
