Red Wine Spritzer – a cool and refreshing cocktail you can enjoy anytime of day! So easy, you can make in minutes, with just 2 ingredients!
Wine is probably my go-to drink, but at the same time I love a good cocktail! In the summer I love a spritzer, it combines the best of both worlds! A fizzy cocktail and red wine. These Skinny Mojitos are always a hit too!
What what is better than snacking some some good food, like my all time favorite Cheesy Corn Dip, and sipping on a refreshing drink?
Let’s face it wine can be expensive. A red wine spritzer is a great way to make a less expensive bottle of wine shine and go further. If you are throwing a party, this is a great option to serve guests. You can also make a White Wine Spritzer for all your white wine friends as well.
What’s In a Wine Spritzer
This Red Wine Spritzer has just 2 ingredients, you can’t get any easier than that!
- Red Wine
- Club Soda, Sprite or even Ginger Ale
You really just want something that will compliment the flavor of the wine and make it fizzy. I really like to use sprite because it also adds a little sweetness. But if you just want fizzy go with club soda, since it will not add flavor.
How To Make Red Wine Spritzer
This is where things get easy. Seriously, anyone can do this, so don’t worry!
- Fill a glass with ice
- Fill the glass about 1/2 full with red wine
- Pour in your club soda or Sprite to the top and gently stir.
That’s it, told you anyone could do it!
I like to use a 1:1 ratio when I make a spritzer, but that is something that you can play with a little to see what you like best.
What Wine Goes In A Wine Spritzer
Here is where you want to save some money. Don’t use your pricey good bottle of wine. Use something in expensive for this. Anything around the $10 range will be amazing with this. I like to use something middle of the range, not a fully bodied wine.
- Pinot Noir
- Merlot
- Cabernet
