These Crispy Air Fryer Gnocchi are perfectly golden brown and crunchy on the outside, but super soft and pillowy on the inside. Serve with marinara sauce for the perfect snack, appetizer or even side dish!

I am always looking for new ways to enjoy gnocchi, it is secretly one of my favorite things. Chicken Gnocchi Soup is comforting and delicious. Cheesy Gnocchi Skillet is hearty and delicious. And you can even do Cauliflower Gnocchi Carbonara for a lower carb version.

These crispy air fryer gnocchi are a fun dish you can have on the table in 15 minutes. So they are great if you need a last minute appetizer, want to put out a snack for people to munch on, or just need an easy side dish.

One of the best things about these is you can season them however you like! I went simple with salt, pepper, and garlic powder for this version. But I also really like to add Italian Seasoning to them as well.

Plus you can use any kind of gnocchi you have. The shelf stable ones work great, the fresh refrigerated version works well, or you could even use frozen. Sweet Potato or Cauliflower gnocchi work as well. So the possibilities are really endless.

  • Gnocchi
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Garlic Powder
  • Marinara Sauce

This is really the most basic version to start with. You can top with Parmesan cheese when it comes out the air fryer, you can mix with Italian seasoning or you can use parsley or oregano. Really whatever you have and like works great!

How To Make Air Fryer Gnocchi

This really is a method for you to follow and then make your own. Use different seasonings or a different sauce to dip for lots of different variations on this.

  • Mix together gnocchi with olive oil and the seasonings until everything is well coated.
  • Pour the gnocchi into the base of your air fryer, spreading in a single layer.
  • Cook on 400º F for about 10-12 minutes, shaking every few minutes, until they are golden brown to your liking.
  • Remove and serve with marinara sauce or your favorite dip.

Recipe Tips & Tricks

  • Shake. Whether you have a basket style air fryer or an oven style one, you will need to shake or stir your gnocchi often during the cooking process. I like to shake every 3-4 minutes. This ensures that they get browned all over, not just one side.
  • Any kind works. Really any kind of gnocchi that you have will work great. You can use sweet potato, cauliflower or traditional potato gnocchi. You can also use the refrigerated ones or the shelf stable or even frozen. So whatever your budget and preference are, this will work.
  • Get creative. You can get creative with the seasonings as well as the dip. Dip in Homemade Ranch Dressing, Spinach Pesto, or marinara or pizza sauce.
  • Use oil. Often times recipes call for just cooking spray when you are using the air fryer. But you really need to toss the gnocchi in oil for them to get crispy and golden. It adds a little flavor, but the texture is not the same without it.

How To Serve

These air fryer gnocchi make for a great appetizer, snack, or a side dish. You can serve alongside Bruschetta and Hoagie Dip for your next get together.

Or if you are looking for a side dish it would go well served along side Creamy Tomato Soup, Italian Stuffed Chicken or this Italian Bake Chicken. This Garlic Tomato Chicken would be another great option.

Can I use frozen gnocchi?

Yes, absolutely! It is great to have a bag on hand, that you can take out for this. DO NOT THAW before using. Just toss with olive oil and seasonings and start cooking. You will need to increase the cook time by 3-4 minutes, but just shake and keep and eye on them to know when they are done.

Can I make ahead?

These air fryer gnocchi are really best enjoyed immediately after making. They will lose crispiness if made ahead. If you have leftovers you can store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in the air fryer until they are warmed through and crispy again.
