Pizza is pretty much the universal food that everyone loves. There are a million different flavor combinations, but it is something you can easily serve and have everyone be happy. So you know pizza in dip form is going to be a huge success as well!

Pizza Dip is gooey, cheesy, and delicious. It has a cream cheese base with your favorite pizza sauce and then plenty of toppings. And this is where you can get creative and make it your own.

I used pepperoni and Italian sausage because they are our favorite toppings, but you can use bell peppers, olives, mushrooms, Canadian bacon….the possibilities are endless.

Why You’ll Love This Crock Pot Pizza Dip

  • Seriously Easy! You really just need to mix everything together and then let the crockpot do the work. The hardest part is picking what flavors you want to use!
  • Make Ahead. I love having dips and appetizers that you can have ready when guests arrive, and they stay warm and delicious. You can get it ready earlier in the day and it is just ready whenever you are.
  • Oh The Possibilities. There really are endless possibilities for this dip. If you are vegetarian you can use bell peppers and mushrooms, if you are a Hawaiian pizza fan you can use Canadian bacon and pineapple. Really, whatever you put on pizza goes here!

What You’ll Need

Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for the FULL PRINTABLE recipe card.

  • Cream Cheese – I like to use full fat because it melts and combines better, but you really can use whatever you like.
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Sour Cream – can use plain Greek yogurt if desired
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Italian Sausage – I like to use hot sausage for more flavor, but if you don’t like spice use mild
  • Pepperoni – I think the mini pepperoni are just more fun, but you can use the traditional size and cut them in smaller pieces or just leave them whole.
  • Italian Seasoning – store bought or you can make your own Homemade Italian Seasoning in just minutes if you don’t have any.
  • Garlic Powder

How To Make Crock Pot Pizza Dip

  • Brown Sausage. If you are using any type of raw meat, you will want to get it cooked and ready. Brown sausage in a large skillet over medium high heat, breaking apart. Once it is fully cooked drain on a paper towel lined plate and cool slightly.
  • Mix Cheese Layer. In a large bowl mix together cream cheese, sour cream, Italian seasoning and garlic powder until nice and smooth. Stir in the cooked sausage and Parmesan cheese until evenly combined.
  • Spread. Pour the cheese layer into the base of your crockpot and spread into an even layer.
  • Add Layers. Spread a layer of pizza sauce over the cream cheese mixture. Then top with the shredded Mozzarella cheese and then a layer of pepperoni.
  • Cook. Place the lid on top and let it cook on low for about 3 hours, or you can do high for 2 hours. Once the cheese is melted it is ready to serve.

Recipe Tips & Tricks

  • No Crockpot? No problem! Just follow the same directions in an oven safe dish and bake at 350º F for 25-30 minutes until it is bubbly and hot.
  • Get creative with the toppings. I like sausage and pepperoni on a pizza, so that is what I used. But you really can mix in whatever veggies or meat that you like. You can even mix up the cheese if you want! Make it a white pizza by leaving out the pizza sauce and adding alfredo. Endless possibilities.
  • If you want to assemble this ahead of time you definitely can. It will sit in the fridge for 24 hours before you need to start heating it. Once it is hot, you can turn your crock pot to warm, if yours has that setting and just leave it for your get together.

How To Serve

If you are taking this dip to a party, you can just transport in your crock pot and set it on warm when you arrive. If you want to transfer to a “pretty” serving dish you can, but it is harder to keep the layers looking nice. So I like to just set out a spoon next to the crock pot.

Anything goes for dipping.

What do you do with the leftovers?

Leftover Pizza Dip can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. You can microwave, best at 50% power, to reheat and reserve.

What if I don’t have a crockpot?

No problem, you can absolutely bake this in the oven for about 30 minutes, or until it is nice and hot.
