How To Make Pizza Bread
- Prepare the pizza dough. Roll out your pizza dough into a large rectangle. I like to do this right on a lined baking sheet.

- Fill. Sprinkle on mozzarella cheese, followed by the crumbled sausage. Layer over the pepperoni slices.
- Roll. Next, roll up the toppings inside the pizza crust. Brush the top of the log with a beaten egg. Finally, sprinkle over parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning.

- Bake. Bake at 350ºF for 20 minutes. Afterward, give the bread a minute or two to cool off.
- Serve! Slice the pizza bread into pinwheels, and serve with pizza sauce.
Recipe Tips & Tricks
- Leave space at the edges. Make sure to leave a ½”-1” border around the edges of the pizza crust when adding the cheese and toppings. This way you can seal the pizza dough after rolling. Also, arrange the log seam-side-down on the baking sheet to keep it from popping open.
- Don’t overfill the pizza dough. Resist going overboard with the toppings you use to fill your pizza bread. Overfilling can cause the dough to tear.
- Egg-free. Instead of an egg wash, brush the top of the dough with melted butter or garlic butter.

More Filling Ideas
Roll up your pizza bread with any of the toppings from your favorite pizza recipes. I love changing up this recipe with fillings inspired by a Buffalo chicken pizza, Philly cheesesteak pizza, or even cheeseburger pizza. Here are some other easy topping ideas that you can try:
- Diced ham or cooked bacon (plus pineapple if Hawaiian pizza is your thing!)
- Sauteed mushrooms
- Bell peppers
- Olives
- Sun-dried tomatoes
- Jalapeños
- Onions
Serving Suggestions
I like to double up my pizza bread recipe on game day and fill a big platter with a side of marinara sauce for dipping! These cheesy bread slices also taste great dunked into homemade ranch dressing. Round out your appetizer spread with more snacks like boneless chicken wings and football cookies for a sweet treat.

Storing and Reheating Leftovers
- Refrigerate. Store any leftover bread in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. Leftovers taste great cold the next day!
- Reheat. Warm this bread in the oven or the air fryer for a few minutes (this is best for crisping up the dough again). You can also use the microwave in a pinch.
- Freeze. Pizza bread freezes great. I’ll often make two loaves, one to enjoy right away and one to stash in the freezer! Let the bread cool completely, wrap it in plastic wrap, and then stick it inside a freezer bag. You can store pizza bread whole or in slices, and defrost it in the fridge before reheating.

I love this bread so much. It is absolutely stuffed to capacity with tasty pizza goodness. We loved them.
We love this easy recipe and make it at least once a month. It reminds me of the pepperoni rolls my neighbor used to make only better!
This is my go to for dinner on busy weeknights! So easy to make and always turns out so delicious!
This was sooooo darn tasty. It disappeared almost as fast as I could make it, haha!
I made the Pizza Bread for our family movie night, and it was a big hit! The crust was perfectly crispy, and the toppings were just right. It’s such a fun and easy recipe that I’ll definitely make again.
I’ve never tried this with sausage before and it’s even better that way! One of our favorite snacks!
