Blackened Shrimp Pasta – a quick and easy shrimp pasta made with homemade blackened seasoning for tons of great flavor!


Weekends are all about relaxing, taking time off, and enjoying life with friends and family. But you don’t always want to spend all day in the kitchen cooking to impress your friends. This Blackened Shrimp Pasta is a great solution. It comes together in about 20 minutes! Your friends will never know how quickly and how little effort you put into the meal. They will just know how flavorful and delicious it is. The list of ingredients for this recipe does look long. But it is so easy – most of it is just measuring spices in a bowl, and then sprinkling it over the shrimp. The nice thing about making your own spice blend, is you can adjust the heat and flavors to what you like. So play with it and find your favorite combination.


Blackened Shrimp Pasta

Blackened Shrimp Pasta - a quick and easy shrimp pasta made with homemade blackened seasoning for tons of great flavor!
Ingredients
- 1 (12 oz) box Angel Hair Pasta
- 1 1/2 pound large, deveined shrimp
- About 3 ½ Tablespoons Blackened Seasoning (use full recipe below)
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken stock
- 1 (14 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme leaves
- 1 tsp paprika
Blackened Seasoning
- 1 Tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- In a small bowl mix together the blackened seasoning. Sprinkle over the shrimp, tossing to coat.
- In a large skillet heat olive oil over medium high heat. Add onion and cook for 2-3 minutes, until
softened. - Add garlic and shrimp. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until shrimp is cooked through. Remove from
pan and set aside. - Stir chicken stock into the pan, scraping up the bits on the bottom. Add crushed
tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, thyme and paprika, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer, and cook
for 5 minutes. - Meanwhile, bring water to boil in a large pot. Cook angel hair pasta according to the package directions.
- Once the pasta is cooked and drain, add that and the shrimp to the sauce. Toss to evenly coat.
- Serve garnished with fresh parsley.
