Kiwi Smoothie – A healthy green smoothie that actually tastes good! Loaded with Kiwi, banana, yogurt, and plenty of spinach. I PROMISE you will never know there is spinach in there!
Are you a smoothie drinking in the morning? I really wish I took the time to make them more often, because they are so good for you! Whenever I have kiwis in the house, this kiwi smoothie is definitely made!
My son is more of a Mixed Berry Smoothie fan, but either way, they are full of spinach to sneak in some veggies and make them extra good for you!
This particular smoothie uses kiwi and bananas for the fruit. You have to trust me when I say this tastes exactly like a kiwi. You can’t even taste the banana in there, it is 100% kiwi. And if you are looking for something a little different this Tropical Fruit Smoothie tastes like you are on vacation!
A friend shared a recipe for a kiwi and spinach smoothie from her blender cookbook. I put my own twist on it, to see if I could make it a little healthier, and here is what I came up with. I have to say, I was skeptical at first, but this kiwi smoothie is refreshing and delicious!
I am usually more of a muffin type of person for breakfast. Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins are my favorite way to use up over ripe bananas. But this spinach smoothie just might convert me! It is such a pretty color green too, which doesn’t hurt!
If you are looking for a spinach smoothie that your kids will have no idea is good for them, this is it! You have 2 kinds of fruit, yogurt, spinach, a little fruit juice, and even flax seed thrown in there too! So much goodness and it tastes amazing.
This Kiwi Smoothie is great because you can have everything on hand at all times. If bananas are getting ripe faster than we can use them, I like to peel them and freeze them, so I can just grab out what I need for smoothies, or even Blueberry Banana Bread. You can do the same with the kiwi and even the spinach.
The easiest thing is to freeze the portions you need for this smoothie all together in one bag, so you just dump it in the blender and then add your yogurt and juice! Super quick and easy for busy mornings.

Kiwi and spinach might just be the only combination ever that my kids would buy! I’m certainly game to try it though.

Yum…I love kiwi fruit in a smoothie. I have a kiwi everyday because I read somewhere that there is more vitamin C in kiwi than an orange 🙂

Jackie l Food.Wine.Fashion says
You were right Erin – can’t taste the spinach at all! I am enjoying the smoothie now and it’s delicious. Also – if anyone wants to make this vegan, I used vanilla soy yogurt and it was nice and creamy and added just a little bit of sweetness. Thanks for the recipe!
Erin says
Yeah!! So glad you liked it!
Stephanie @ Eat. Drink. Love. says
I have a hard time with a lot of green smoothies because I can’t cover up the spinach taste enough, but I haven’t tried one with kiwi yet. I will give it a try sometime!
Emily @ Life on Food says
I eat one of these almost everyday. I heard that the banana takes the spinach taste away. Whatever else you put in it is what you taste.
Amanda says
Such a pretty green color! Even though I’m not a fan of these juices myself, I’m tempted to try it!

First green smoothie ever. I thought this would be a chore to drink, but it’s delicious! Thanks for the recipe!
Carly says
Hello!
I am looking forward to making this soon! I do live in the dorms currently, if I make a double batch and save the extra in my fridge will it still be good?
Erin S says
I think it should be fine, you might want to use a cup with a lid so you can shake it. Let me know how it goes!
Carly says
It only works if I plan to drink it the next day but I’m going to stick to just making it one serving at a time because like me I always forget I have it there!
Question: It seemed like a lot of kiwi but maybe that’s just because I did make a double batch, but it seemed all I could taste was seeds galore. Is there a way to fix that or did I just not blend it long enough?
Thank you!
Erin S says
I don’t have the problem with seeds. A single batch is 2 kiwis, so maybe it was the doubling? Or maybe you really just need to process more. I am trying to think if there is a way to take the seeds out of a kiwi, but I can’t think of anything. Let me know how a single batch works.
Jean Tav says
Made this for breakfast minus the apple juice( didn’t have, used water instead) and used kale instead of spinach (had the kale). It was soooo good.
Erin S says
So glad that you liked it! Thanks for coming back to let me know.
