- Fresh Kiwi
- Spinach
- Vanilla Greek Yogurt – you can use plain yogurt or regular yogurt as well. Greek yogurt just gives you more protein and makes the smoothie nice and creamy.
- Banana
- Apple Juice – can really use any liquid you like including just water to get this to come together.

How To Make Kiwi Smoothie
- Add all of the ingredients to the blender. I have this Blendtec Blender, and if you use a blender often, it is absolutely worth the money with how powerful it is.
- Process until nice and smooth.
- Pour into glasses and serve.

Recipe Tips & Suggestions
- Frozen. If you like a thick and cold smoothie you can freeze the kiwi and banana ahead of time and skip the ice.
- Make Ahead. I wouldn’t actually fully blend the smoothie ahead of time, but you can prep little bags with the spinach and fruit. You can have them in the freezer waiting for you, so in the morning all you have to do is blend it with the yogurt and liquid.
- Add-Ins. This is a great base smoothie that you can really add anything you like to. I use Greek yogurt so it has added protein, but if you want to add protein powder or greens powder you absolutely can. You can add chia seeds or hemp hearts as well for even more nutrition.
- Other Fruits. Other fruits are great to mix in with the kiwi. I like banana to help make it creamy, but you could add mango or pineapple or even avocado adds healthy fats and makes it super creamy.

Peeling Kiwi
The recipe calls for peeling the kiwi, but if you have a powerful blender you can skip this step. It will blend up and you won’t know it is in there. The skin has a lot of nutrients, so it is worth leaving on if you can. Some blenders won’t get it as smooth, so it is up to you if you want to peel or not.

I am a green smoothie lover! You can’t have a bad day if you start it off with one of these guys!
I never thought I’d like green smoothies until my first one a few months back, and I was shocked at how much I liked it. So surprisingly delicious! And yours looks awesome – love the addition of kiwi!
First green smoothie ever. I thought this would be a chore to drink, but it’s delicious! Thanks for the recipe!
Hello!
I am looking forward to making this soon! I do live in the dorms currently, if I make a double batch and save the extra in my fridge will it still be good?
I think it should be fine, you might want to use a cup with a lid so you can shake it. Let me know how it goes!
It only works if I plan to drink it the next day but I’m going to stick to just making it one serving at a time because like me I always forget I have it there!
Question: It seemed like a lot of kiwi but maybe that’s just because I did make a double batch, but it seemed all I could taste was seeds galore. Is there a way to fix that or did I just not blend it long enough?
Thank you!
I don’t have the problem with seeds. A single batch is 2 kiwis, so maybe it was the doubling? Or maybe you really just need to process more. I am trying to think if there is a way to take the seeds out of a kiwi, but I can’t think of anything. Let me know how a single batch works.
Made this for breakfast minus the apple juice( didn’t have, used water instead) and used kale instead of spinach (had the kale). It was soooo good.
So glad that you liked it! Thanks for coming back to let me know.
I must try this smoothie!
Delicious recipe! I can’t stand boiled or cooked spinach but mixing it with a smoothie, I can’t even tell it’s there and I get all my greens in! 🙂
I made this with 1 kiwi, 1 banana (+ 2 frozen bits I had) half a cup of water, handful of spinach and a spoon of honey and it was great! Thanks for the inspiration!!
Thanks, Erin! for sharing Kiwi & Spinach Smoothie recipe. It looks delicious. Personally Speaking, I also don’t like spinach but with kiwi, banana and vanilla yoghurt, I can give it a try. I also have Indian Smoothies recipe blog written by Pratyusha. Not in an elaborative way like yours but ok to read. Appreciate it, if you will check. Thanks!
I love sneaking in veggies into our smoothies! My kids loved this one and are none the wiser, just make sure to make it before they come downstairs for breakfast!d
