Mistletoe Margarita – a festive margarita with cranberry juice, citrus, orange flavored liqueur and plenty of your favorite tequila!
When it comes to the holidays there are always a lot of different parties and events to go to. And most of them will include a cocktail with appetizers or some kind of drink with dinner. More often than not beer and wine are the options, because they are just so darn easy!
But it is the holidays, and we are taking it up a notch with a fun and festive drink we are calling the Mistletoe Margarita. No there is not any mistletoe involved, but you have the red and green and there are some fresh fruit and herbs, so it seemed fitting.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
Drink recipes are always fun, so of course it will be a hit, but there are a couple of key things why I think this will be a hit at your holiday gathering.
- You can make this by the pitcher or by the glass. Both amounts are listed in the recipe card, so it is great no matter if it is just a couple people or a whole crowd.
- It can be make on the rocks or frozen! A frozen margarita is always tasty, even in the middle of winter. So the option is included in the recipe card below.
- You get to adjust the sweetness of this drink. There is simple syrup called for in the recipe, but taste it and adjust to your liking. If you don’t like sweet cocktails leave it out to start and add it if necessary.
And if you want margaritas in dessert form don’t miss my Margarita Cake!

What You’ll Need
- Tequila – use a good quality silver or white tequila for this. You don’t have to go top shelf, but don’t get the cheapest one either, or your cocktail will taste off.
- Triple Sec or Cointreau – this is an orange flavored liqueur.
- Cranberry Juice
- Lime Juice
- Simple Syrup
- Ice
- Fresh Cranberries and Rosemary for garnish
How To Make A Mistletoe Margarita
- If you are making in a pitcher stir together the tequila, triple sec, cranberry juice, and lime juice until well blended. If making just 1 or 2, add these to a shaker filled with ice. Taste and add simple syrup if desired.
- Pour the cocktails in to a glass filled with ice, and garnish with fresh cranberries, a sprig of rosemary and lime wedges.

How To Sugar The Rim Of The Glass
- Start by cutting a slice of fresh lime.
- Use that slice to run along the mouth of the glass.
- Put sugar in a dish that is slightly bigger than the opening of the glass.
- Dip the moistened edge of the glass in the sugar, and it will stick. Then make sure to use a pitcher to pour in the ice and margarita, so it stays.
How To Make Frozen Margaritas
The only difference to make these frozen margaritas is you need more ice and a blender to bring it all together. Pour everything into a blender with 3-4 cups of ice, and blend until frosty and slushy. Then just pour into your prepared glasses.
