- Ground Beef
- Onion
- Bell Peppers
- Mushrooms
- Provolone Cheese
- Ketchup – just a little goes a long way, you can’t taste that it is ketchup, it just gives a little tanginess.
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Salt & Pepper
- Beef Broth
- Cornstarch
- Hamburger Buns

How To Make Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes
- Brown Ground Beef. Add ground beef to a hot skillet, and brown for about 5 minutes, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. It doesn’t need to be cooked through at this point, just starting to brown.
- Add Veggies. Add in the onions, green peppers and mushrooms. Sauté until the veggies are soft, about 5-7 minutes. Drain away any excess grease.
- Make Sauce. In a small bowl mix together beef broth and cornstarch. Stir in with beef mixture. Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Reduce heat, and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
- Add Cheese. Stir in cheese and mix until melted.
- Serve. Scoop the mixture onto buns and serve immediately. You can stop with an additional slice of cheese if desired.

Recipe Tips & Suggestions
- Cheese. I like provolone best with these, but you can use any cheese you like. American is a classic choice with a cheesesteak.
- Veggies. You can use any combination of peppers, onions, and mushrooms that you like. They are not necessarily traditional, but they do work well in this sandwich.
- Storage. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave until warmed though to serve.
Sloppy Joes are such a classic dinner. I love to use them to feed a crowd when we have people over. And these are no different. Everyone raves about them, they are easy and so good! You could keep them warm in the crock pot if you wanted to make them ahead of time too.
