Sweet & Salty snack mix with pumpkin spice for fall. This Pumpkin Spice Snack Mix is easy to make, great to mix in your favorite treats.

As soon as school starts and fall is in the air things turn into pumpkin everything. Let’s get this out of the way up front, this is pumpkin SPICE, meaning it uses pumpkin spice to give it flavor. No actual pumpkin is used in this recipe at all.

I love a good snack mix, and this sweet & salty version is perfect. It has some classic cereals you find in snack mixes, and then some fun mix-ins. I used Halloween M&M’s for color, as well as the Pumpkin candy corn.

It is all coated in a sticky sugar mixture and then tossed in a sugar and pumpkin spice coating to give it great flavor and texture. Such a fun treat to use your favorite ingredients and mix it up for your family.

What You’ll Need

Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for the FULL PRINTABLE recipe card.

  • Chex Cereal – I used Corn Chex but any type works great. The Cinnamon Chex would work really well here.

  • Pretzels
  • Halloween M&M’s
  • Pumpkin Candy Corn

Recipe Tips & Tricks

  • Use the largest sheet pan you have when you are putting this in the oven. You want it as spread out as possible, so it crisps up nicely. You can divide into multiple smaller pans if that works better for you.
  • Make sure to let it cool. If you have not made a snack mix before, as it cools it sets up, gets crunchy and delicious. If you serve when it is warm things are kind of soft and almost mushy.
  • Lining your baking sheet is very important. You can use parchment paper or silicon liners, but don’t skip this step or your snack mix will just stick to the pan and make a mess.
  • Get creative with your mix-ins. Use different nuts, use Reese’s Pieces instead of M&M’s, use cheese crackers instead of pretzels…..get creative for what you like!
  • Need more or less? This recipe is very easy to cut in half or even double if you are making for a large group.

Previous years I have made a Halloween Party Mix and a Fall Snack Mix, so there is no shortage of different options for you!

Storage

Make sure that the mix has cooled completely and then transfer to an airtight container. It can sit at room temperature for up to 3 weeks.

It also FREEZES really well. Store in an airtight container for 2-3 months. Just remove and let it set at room temperature to thaw.
