Spicy Cajun Dipping Sauce – this makes a great dip for fish or French fries, topping for burgers, or even just a dip with chips. Perfectly creamy with a little kick!

My family likes their condiments. We don’t have many dinners, that don’t have a couple bottles of something, or bowls of sauces on the table. Sometimes store bought sauces just don’t give you the flavor you want, so you need to mix it up on your own.

Copycat Red Lobster Tarter Sauce pretty much beats any store bought one you can buy, and takes 5 minutes to mix up. And this Cajun Dipping Sauce is no different, really just a couple of minutes and you can enjoy.

We first made this cajun dipping sauce to serve with shrimp cakes instead of the avocado salsa we normally make. We all loved it so much, we started eating it with chips as a dip. And putting it on burgers and sandwiches.

What You’ll Need

  • Mayo – take it to a whole new level and use Homemade Mayo
  • Sour Cream
  • Cajun Seasoning – you can use your favorite store bought or Homemade Cajun Seasoning

How To Make Spicy Cajun Dip

It really doesn’t get much easier than this, you just mix everything together. And then taste to adjust if you want it spicier.

  1. Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl until it is smooth and combined.
  2. Taste to adjust the level of spice to your taste.
  3. Cover and place in the fridge until ready to serve.

Recipe Tips

  • I do like to use full fat mayo for this recipe to get a nice smooth, creamy, and rich taste. But any fat level will work, so use what you have.
  • Make it to your taste! If you like things extra spicy, add more hot sauce. This is mild to medium on the heat scale in my opinion, so if you want it more mild you can also use less hot sauce.
  • You can definitely make this dip ahead, as it sits it just gets better.

Great Dipping Ideas

Get creative with what you use as dippers. It can be your basic frozen fish or chicken from the grocery store. But you can also use it on so many other things. These are just a few ideas.

Gosh, I haven’t had fish sticks since I was a kid! Maybe with a great dip like this, my kids would actually eat them now?! Only one way to find out!

  3. I’ve made this dip several times in the past and my whole family loves it.We like to use it as dip for chips.I just whipped this up and literally licked the spoon after!!!

  4. I personally can’t do seafood, but I cook a lot of it because my husband is obsessed with it. He loves the cajun seasoning the most so I have no doubt he would be head over heals for this sauce. Salmon is on the dinner agenda for tomorrow night, I’m giving this sauce a whirl then!

  5. I need this sauce on everything! Thank you for sharing the ingredients and instructions, I’m definitely going to try it!
