Tequila Sunrise Recipe – A cool and refreshing cocktail with orange juice, grenadine and tequila. Perfect for all of your get togethers!
A good cocktail can be the hit of a party. It can be something like a White Sangria at a summer gathering. Super crisp and refreshing and everyone loves it. Or it could be something like a Whiskey Sour that is a classic and everyone enjoys. This Tequila Sunrise is just such a pretty color that everyone goes crazy for it.
The classic cocktails are some of the simplest to make and sometimes they are the most refreshing and delicious. But they are often forgotten! So I want to bring them back. This Tequila Sunrise has such gorgeous layers of color that are so easy anyone can do it. Plus it just has 3 ingredients you can easily have in your fridge at all times.
Tequila Sunrise Ingredients
- Orange Juice
- Grenadine
- Tequila
- Garnish with a cherry and an orange slice
How to Make a Tequila Sunrise
- Fill a tall glass with ice
- Mix together orange juice and tequila and pour over the ice
- Slowly pour in the Grenadine last and it will sink to the bottom
- Garnish with a cherry and orange slice to serve
You can make a tequila sunrise without grenadine by using some of the liquid in the maraschino cherry jar. It will give a very similar flavor, but you won’t get quite the same color separation and layers.
So if you are looking for a fun new cocktail to try or want to throw it back to an old classic, this Tequila Sunrise recipe is exactly what you want. You can mix up a batch of the tequila and orange juice to have in the fridge ahead of time. So serving is just pouring that into glasses and adding the grenadine.
And don’t worry about buying too much tequila these Blue Margaritas will be a great use for any you have left! I even have a recipe that will use up the Grenadine if you wanted to try something else. Pomegranate Vodka Gimlet is a great and refreshing drink to make anytime.
Serve these at your next get together with The Best Turkey Burgers and you will have a refreshing and delicious menu that everyone will love. It is different than just having beer and wine available, but still basic and easy enough that you don’t have to invest a lot of time and money into ingredients. You and your guests will love it!

Whenever I go out with my colleagues, I try to get a cocktail that has tequila in it. This is the best thing that you can do as you don’t have to drink a lot to feel a bit tipsy.
