Homemade Strawberry Milk – use fresh strawberries to make a homemade version of the store bought powdered strawberry milk. Super easy and so much better than the powder!

Strawberry milk definitely takes me back to being a kid. There was just something about a cold glass of milk with that powdered strawberry mix that was such a treat!

Well now you can make it at home, with NO artificial flavors or colors. Just a homemade strawberry syrup and milk together for a fruity and delicious drink.

Making homemade strawberry milk is so simple, you are going to wonder why you never thought of it before!

What’s In Strawberry Milk

  • Strawberries
  • Sugar
  • Water
  • Milk

Yep, it is that simple. If you want your milk to be more pink, you can add a couple drops of food coloring, but it is definitely not required!

How To Make Strawberry Milk

  1. The first step is to make a strawberry syrup. Combine chopped strawberries, sugar and water into a saucepan and bring to a low boil.
  2. Cook the strawberries for about 10 minutes, stirring often. You want the berries to break down and turn into a thick syrup.
  3. Pour the berry mixture through a strainer. You can discard the berries or use them for something else. For the milk we just need the syrup.
  4. Let the syrup sit in the fridge to get nice and cold before you make your milk.
  5. Add about 3 Tbsp of the syrup to a cup of milk. You can play with the ratio to get the color and flavor that you like.

This homemade strawberry milk recipe is so simple to make, you can double the syrup recipe to keep it in the fridge. It will last covered in the fridge for at least a week.

I love the taste of real strawberries in the milk, it isn’t the fake taste you get from the powder.

You get a natural pink color from the strawberry syrup, and depending on how much syrup you add it could be a brighter pink color. If you want to ensure it is a bright pink you can add a drop or two of food coloring.

Pick up extra strawberries, because you are going to want to make this often. And I am not going to lie and say it is just for the kids. I will take any excuse to make a tall glass just for myself!
