Cookie Dough Dip – this is pretty much cookie dough in tip form! A sweet dip that is great with fruit, crackers or even pretzels!

I am pretty sure I am not the only person out there who bakes Chocolate Chip Cookies, just so you can have some cookie dough. It is definitely a guilty pleasure!

This Cookie Dough Dip is pretty much cookie dough, but in dip form. It is a smooth and creamy dip that you can use as a fruit dip or it makes a fun dessert at parties with all sorts of different dippers around.

This was originally posted on the blog back in 2012, and it was a huge hit with my family. Dessert dips aren’t something that you often think of, but they are so good. This Peanut Butter Butterfinger Dip is another must try. Whenever I bring it to a friends house it always disappears quickly.

Originally when I made this I added peanut butter, but I have tried it many times without as well. I can’t decide which version I like better, so both are in the recipe card below. You can try both and let me know which is your favorite. **Note, that when you make a dessert dip, it will be slightly tangy and creamy from the cream cheese. It isn’t just like eating raw cookie dough.

What You’ll Need

  • Softened Butter
  • Cream Cheese
  • Brown Sugar
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Mini Chocolate Chips
  • Salt
  • Peanut Butter (optional)

You can use an electric mixer, a stand mixer or just a spatula for this, it really all depends on how much work you want to do and how many dishes you want. But it could not be easier!

  1. Mix together butter, cream cheese, brown sugar and powdered sugar until everything is smooth and creamy.
  2. Mix in vanilla extract and just a pinch of salt.
  3. Fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly combined.
  4. Then you just cover and store in the fridge until you are ready to serve it!

This is such an easy dessert dip you can make in just a couple of minutes, and it will be a huge hit with your friends and family. Plus the dipping possibilities are endless. You can do crunchy and creamy, sweet and salty, chocolate and peanut butter….really anything goes!

Recipe Tips

  • This comes together really easily if you have room temperature ingredients. Make sure to plan ahead and put your butter and cream cheese out ahead of time, so that they mix and combine well for the best results.
  • Get creative and mix in whatever you like! Mini M&M’s or chopped peanut butter cups are a great way to take this over the top. Also Toffee Bits would be really delicious as well.
  • Cookie Dough Dip is great to make ahead. You can serve it immediately after it is mixed, or cover and put in the fridge for a couple days before serving. Just let it sit out for a few minutes so it is spreadable if your refrigerate it.
