I love making a crispy, cheesy crescent roll pizza whenever we need a quick meal or party snack. There’s zero kneading or rising time with this easy homemade pizza. Just add your favorite pizza toppings (plus fistfuls of cheese) and bake!

On nights when there isn’t enough time for homemade pizza dough, I love making crescent roll pizza! As easy as my no-knead pizza dough is to make, it’s not quite as quick as popping open a tube of crescent roll dough. This recipe is perfect for weeknight dinners and get-togethers as it needs very few ingredients and makes a good-sized pizza. The crescent dough bakes up crispy and flaky. Just add your favorite toppings and plenty of cheese!

Why I Love This Easy Crescent Roll Pizza

  • Ready in 25 minutes. Simply roll out and bake the crust, add your toppings, and bake again. There’s no kneading or rising time. Making a crescent roll pizza is super quick, and there’s really only 5 minutes of hands-on time.
  • Flaky, golden crust. Pillsbury Crescent Dough Sheets don’t just make a tasty pastry, they’re the PERFECT pizza crust in a hurry. The dough bakes up irresistibly golden and flaky. I coat the bottom of my pizza with cornmeal for that authentic pizza oven texture.
  • Easy to customize. Load up your crescent roll pizza with any toppings you’d like. I love this family-friendly pepperoni pizza, but anything goes. Change up the sauces, meats, veggies, and more to create a pizza exactly how you like it.

Ingredients You’ll Need

You need only 3 ingredients to make a crescent roll pizza, plus toppings, which are totally up to you. I’ve included some quick notes below. Scroll down to the recipe card for a printable list.

  • Crescent Roll Dough – You’ll need one Pillsbury Crescent Dough Sheet. If you can’t find sheets, use a tube of regular Crescent Rolls and press the seams together on the baking sheet.
  • Pizza Sauce – Choose your favorite store-bought pizza sauce or tomato sauce.
  • Mozzarella – Or another melty cheese, freshly shredded from the block. Shredded cheddar, provolone, and Monterey Jack will also work.
  • Toppings – I use lean turkey pepperoni here, but just like a traditional pizza recipe, you can customize this crescent roll pizza with any toppings you’d like. Try sausage, mushrooms, olives, etc. See further down in the post for more ideas.
  • Cornmeal – Sprinkling the pan with cornmeal helps to keep the pizza from sticking. I also like how it gives the crust that fresh-from-the-pizza-oven taste and texture.

How to Make a Crescent Roll Pizza

This crescent roll pepperoni pizza might be the easiest homemade pizza of all time. I keep a roll or two of crescent dough in my fridge specifically for this recipe! This pizza comes together in three simple steps. You’ll find printable instructions along with the full recipe details in the recipe card.

  • Prepare the crust. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and give it a light sprinkling with cornmeal. Gently roll the canned crescent dough sheet out onto the baking pan. After, par-bake the crust at 375ºF for 5 minutes.
  • Assemble. Spread tomato sauce over the crust, and layer over the cheese and pepperoni.
  • Bake. Pop the crescent roll pizza back into the oven and bake for 13-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted. Once your pizza is out of the oven, slice it into squares and serve!

Recipe Tips

  • Par-bake the pizza crust. Don’t skip this step, otherwise, your crescent dough crust will turn out soggy once you add the toppings.
  • Don’t go overboard with toppings. Even if the crust is par-baked, too much cheese, sauce, or heavy add-ons can cause the dough to fall apart. This is a thin-crust pizza, so do your best not to get carried away with toppings.
  • More pizza ideas. I’ll sometimes borrow the toppings from my Buffalo chicken pizza, this bacon ranch pizza, or my easy chicken fajita pizza. Go ahead and create your own tasty combination! See below for more variations.

Easy Variations

  • Different pizza sauce. Try trading out traditional pizza sauce with a white pizza base, pesto, or homemade buttermilk ranch dressing.
  • Meaty. Instead of pepperoni, add sliced or crumbled Italian sausage, or another protein like ham, chorizo, or cooked crumbled bacon.
  • Veggies. Make a crescent roll veggie pizza with your choice of roasted veggies, onions, olives, sauteed spinach, or mushrooms. You could even make this recipe as a potato pizza.
  • Breakfast. Make a breakfast pizza with crescent rolls and pile on scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, hashbrowns, and more of your favorite breakfast foods. Pretty much any toppings you’d add to an omelet go great on a breakfast pizza.

Serving Suggestions

This crescent roll pizza is the perfect quick dinner, appetizer, or party snack. I’ll serve it hot from the oven with a side of chicken Caesar salad and homemade breadsticks for an easy family meal on pizza night. It’s also great paired with crudités, boat dip, and a big pitcher of beer margaritas when the game is on!

Storing and Reheating Leftovers

  • Refrigerate. Store any leftover crescent roll pizza slices airtight in the fridge. I recommend placing a sheet of parchment paper between layers if you’ll be stacking the slices. Most leftover pizza lasts 3-4 days depending on the toppings.
  • Reheat. I love cold pizza, but you can easily warm up your slices in the oven or the air fryer. This way, the crust crisps up again (more than it will in the microwave). Line a baking sheet or the air fryer basket with foil for easy clean-up.
